Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Run for Congress in 2006!

So you've decided you can't sit and watch the Far Right flush the country down the toilet while "opposition" Democrats play dumb, play dead, and let them have their way. You're thinking of running for Congress.  The conventional wisdom has been that it's nearly impossible to knock-off an incumbent in a primary unless he is embroiled in a major scandal.

But the Right has shown it's possible to mount strong challenges to incumbents when they are out-of-touch with their constituency.  The so-called "centrists" disastrous loss in 2004 makes the Democratic party ripe for housecleaning. We're looking for REAL Democrats willing to fight.

The details of what's required to get on the ballot are available at each state's particular elections department, a function of state government.  Keep your eye on this page as a discussion forum and resource center for grassroots candidates.  The leanings of this  website should be pretty obvious.  We're looking to help challengers from the center against the Right (corporate Democrats like the ones who lost the presidential election) and the Far Right (Bush Republicans.)  We could be progressive Democrats, true fiscal conservatives, anti-Bush Christian Fundamentalists (yes they are out there!), Libertarians.  We'll build our own media to counter major media bias in favor of the status quo, utilizing the power of the Internet

Blog Thread for Candidates; here we discuss everything, platform, raising money, nuts and bolts of running.

"Anyone involved in running for a congressional seat,
working on a congressional election or just interested
in national politics will find this book enormously
interesting. It's short. It's down to earth. It's
up-to-date. And, it's one of the best on the subject."
